What we do on this site

We publish general information: what the available data shows about lithium battery, e-bike and e-scooter fires, where the safety and regulatory picture currently stands, and how responsibility after a fire like that is usually established. Every figure is attributed on the page it appears on.

What we do not do here

We do not assess individual situations on this site, and nothing published here is advice about your own case. We cannot tell you what a particular incident is worth, whether a particular route will succeed, or how long anything will take — those answers need the facts of your own case in front of them, and we would be guessing at your expense if we offered them from a page.

We also do not promise outcomes, amounts or timescales anywhere on this site. If you find anything here that reads as though we do, tell us through our feedback page and we will correct it.

Commercial arrangements

We have no commercial arrangement in place with any third party in connection with this site, and no enquiry route through which one could operate. If we put one in place, we will state the basis of it on this page — including whether we receive any fee or other benefit — before it affects anything you read here.

Data protection and consent

We are collecting no personal data through this site at present, because we have no enquiry route open. What we would collect, and on what basis, is set out in our privacy policy. Feedback about the website itself is covered on our feedback page; concerns about an adviser you have instructed are a matter for that adviser and their own regulator rather than for us.

We are not taking enquiries. We have no enquiry form, telephone number or email address in service, and nothing you send can reach us at present.
